Everyday explanation
An AI assistant is a program you can write to or talk to. It can explain words, make up stories, help you spell, and answer questions like «why is the sky blue?».
But it is not a person. It does not know who you are, it can be wrong, and it does not know what is best for you. If it is about your body, your feelings, money, or something that feels wrong — ask an adult.
Interactive
Good to ask the AI: «Explain what a volcano is as if I were seven.» «Make up a story about a dragon who is afraid of fire.» «How do you spell 'giraffe'?»
Ask an adult instead: «I feel bad, what should I do?» «Can I buy this game?» «Someone online wants to meet me.»
Try it: ask an AI the same question twice. Were the answers the same? Often not — it guesses its way through the words, it does not look them up in a book.
